Oversee departmental P&L and balance sheet accounts for specific departments within the US Northeast business unit.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
General ledger and expense management: Review all general ledger accounting entries with particular attention to accounts payable, accounts receivable, prepaid maintenance, amortization and fixed asset accounting, salary/labor cost transfers, and account classifications. Balance sheet reconciliation monthly.
Monthly close: Process month-end journal entries for revenue and expense recognition, accruals, and account reclassifications. Run ad hoc project queries and analysis in PSA and Diver. Research expense transactions using eProc and AP queries and reports.
Dept/Project financials: Work closely with project and departmental managers to analyze project financial performance and forecasts. Review financial data for monthly project health checks, PMO dashboards, and USEM strategic account reports. Support sector financial manager in preparing consolidated forecasts and annual budgets, review pipeline data and prepare analysis and reports. Maintain project reference data, and consolidated reports in Excel. Review sales models to validate project expense detail and to build new project worksheets as needed.
Adherence to accounting/corporate policy: Provide periodic audit documentation and reporting; understand and ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, IFRS, GAAP, and SOX program requirements
Project/contract level financial reporting experience supporting various contract types (i.e. T&M, Fixed-Price, Cost-Plus, etc.).
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Bachelors degree plus 3-5 years of directly related experience. Solid background in accounting, especially in areas of AP, fixed assets, prepaid maintenance, and accruals. Experience analyzing BU and project profitability compared with budget and prior forecasts.
Strong analytical and communication skills. Effectively manage extensive email correspondence.
Team-work skills and ability to work in a challenging environment with frequent deadlines.
Highly proficient in using Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, filters, and named ranges.
Also, preferably candidates will have prior experience working in accounting related to IT contracting. Prior experience with Peoplesoft, including coding and posting journal entries, running queries, and reviewing project reference data.
