Job Description

Sets up and operates power press to trim, punch, shape, notch, draw or crimp metal, composite or plastic stock by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Set up and feed material.

Positions ram to dead bottom.

Adjusts ram to specified height of die.

Installs and aligns dies in press according to specifications.

Clamps die shoe to ram and bed.

Adjusts ram for tooling length

Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.

Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors.

Cleans and lubricate machines.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Read blueprints have mechanical abilities

LANGUAGE SKILLS Speak and understand English

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Add, subtract, multiply, divide


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is loud. Warm to hot climate environment. Oil mist in the air.
