Sensata Technologies, Inc. Process Engineer in Almelo, Netherlands
Within the Process Engineering team of the PMT department in the European headquarters in Almelo we have a vacancy for a Process Engineer. The PMT (Product Management Team) is responsible for leading NPD (New Product Development) programs, the development of the production processes and the overall operational management of the business.
Develop new production processes and/or adapt existing production processes for the assembly, calibration and testing of automotive sensors.
Define specifications for production equipment and interact with equipment suppliers to ensure equipment will meet specifications.
Optimize and help solving problems in existing production processes.
Participate in global NPD project teams to enable successful launch of new products.
Initiate improvement plans for efficiency, capacity, costs, lead time and quality of production.
Keep in contact with other departments on process specifications, quality aspects, product specifications and continuity of equipment.
Minimum requirements include:
Bachelor or Master degree in mechanical engineering combined with relevant work experience
3-5 years experience with process engineering in a high-technology environment
Preferred requirements include:
Technical expertise to assess sensor product design on manufacturability.
Good understanding principles of Design for Assembly and 6 Sigma tools.
Good understanding of basic assembly techniques (welding, wire bonding, dispensing, etc.).
Good communication skills, written and verbally in English.
Communications skills in either Spanish or Chinese are considered an advantage.
Good social skills to initiate and drive activities in various production sites in other countries.
Pro-active attitude and clearly capable of setting priorities.
Able to effectively interact with customers.
Basic understanding of (automotive) quality systems and control.
Set up of cost estimates and analyses.
Project management skills to lead and participate multidisciplinary, global teams.
Knowledge of MS-Office software (Word, Windows, Excel and Outlook).
Prepared to travel and work abroad on a regular basis.
