The RN - ICU provides direct nursing care to critically ill patients in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Implements and monitors patient care plans.
Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Documents conclusions reached based on assessment data that indicates the potential for/or actual human need fulfillment/deficit for the client as person, family & community including pain mgmt.
Assesses patient on admission using ulticare system
Prescribes, delegates & coordinates all nursing care based on age-specific criteria, as defined and provided throughout the hospital
Revises, as needed, the plan of care to ensure that the needs of the patient are identified & appropriate nursing interventions are implemented
Advanced Life Support obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
Certified BLS Provider obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
Pediatric Advnced Life Support obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the New York Department of Education obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
