Wonderful Opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist to work at both St Elizabeth Hospital and Mercy Medical Center! Hours are variable with every third weekend and holiday The Clinical Staff Pharmacist performs a variety of professional pharmacist, clinical, administrative, and distributive duties in support of hospital inpatient’s and outpatient’s. Duties may be performed in either a central, decentral or outpatient pharmacy practice model.
Clinical Staff Pharmacist duties include review of physician orders and drug regimens, order processing with electronic and manual clinical checks, consultation on drug therapy and interventions, and monitoring of duties performed by technical staff. Depending on hospital practice area, other clinical duties may include patient rounds with physician staff, kinetics dosing, metabolic support services, prescription and patient counseling, and pharmaceutical care recommendations.
The Clinical Staff Pharmacist is expected to incorporate an in-depth working knowledge of federal and state laws, Joint Commission standards, and professional practice standards as promulgated by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) to guide or direct daily duties in the handling and use of drugs in hospitals. Qualifications: Minimum Education Required : · Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) degree, OR Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or university of the United States is required. · Depending on the specific focus of the clinical pharmacist, a completion of a residency training program or other advanced educational credentials are also preferred. Minimum Related Years of Experience ( per minimum education ) Required: · Internship or licensed pharmacist experience sufficient to qualify for registration in the State of Wisconsin. Experience in a hospital inpatient care setting is preferred. Credential/Licensure Required : · Licensed to practice as a registered pharmacist in the State of Wisconsin. Job: Pharmacist
