St. Elizabeth Hospital's Fremont 3 department has a part-time CNA opportunity available. This position will be scheduled to work 28 hours/week (3 PM – 11:30 PM).

Fremont 3 is a 30 bed medical/surgical department located in our new Fremont Tower. - Eligible for referral bonus -

Summary and Purpose:

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant performs patient care activities. The Certified Nursing Assistant documents data obtained and reports all deviation from normal findings to the nurse promptly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Accepts and performs delegated aspects of care that he/she is competent to perform, under the direction of the RN. This includes advanced skills obtained through Technical Colleague training and based on established policy and procedure.

Provides assistance in activities of daily living (ADLs), including nutrition, mobility, ambulation, elimination, and personal hygiene.

Provides emotional support and considers patient’s condition and family needs in providing care.

Observes and reports promptly any changes in patient’s behavior and physical status to the RN. Notifies RN promptly of patient requests that require professional nursing intervention.

Provides patient care using appropriate infection control and safety precautions.

Assists the RN and reinforces teaching of patients/families, staff and students.

Recognizes common barriers to communication including language, vision changes, hearing loss, speech problems, memory loss and disorientation.

Recognizes patient rights by providing an opportunity for patients to make choices in scheduling their care. Notifies RN when patient expresses concern related to issues of care or treatment.

Documents care provided on appropriate chart forms. Qualifications: Minimum Education Required :

High school graduate or GED required. Must be at least 18 years old. Current certification on the Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Registry required. CPR certification within 90 days of hire. Completion of technical colleague requirements within 3 months of hire.

Minimum Related Years of Experience ( per minimum education ) Required:

Previous work experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute or long-term care facility preferred, but may be required based on the business needs of the unit.

Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to establish effective relationships with patients and coworkers.
