St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, WI has a part time (20 hours per week) Invasive Radiologic Technologist position open. Scrub tech for Angio and Cardiac Cath procedures and perform a variety of functions to assist in special procedures. Hours are 7am-3:30pm; variable days Monday - Friday. Call every 4th weekend and every 4th weeknight. There is a 30 minute response time for call ins. Under the direction of the Radiologist, Cardiologist, Manager and Director of the Radiology Department performs radiology procedures at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. Provides a variety of technical procedures that requires independent judgment. Operates ionizing radiation equipment using ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed protocols related to radiology technology for the diagnosis of various diseases. Assumes responsibility for coordinating procedures, quality assurance, surveys and record keeping as related to radiation safety, and attending to the patient’s needs. Receives, positions, and attends to patients. Abstracts pertinent data from patient and/or patient record. Performs all cardiac caths and special procedures and properly sets equipment (film changers, injectors, monitors) and protocols to maximize exam quality. Able to produce radiographic subtraction images. Possesses knowledge regarding catheter usage, limitations, and availability for specific examinations and other aparati for use in patient monitoring during special procedures. Practices sterile technique and sterile procedures. Cleans and disinfects equipment after use. Keeps equipment in working order, recognizes equipment malfunction, and reports appropriate information to manager and/or service center. Maintains knowledge and documents all minor equipment failures. Demonstrates a patient centered approach in the provision of care guest relations and age appropriate skills. Maintains records pertinent to procedure performed, i.e. contrast dose, catheter use, arterial pressures. Maintains inventories, cleans and verifies sterilization packs. Orders medical and office supplies from pharmacy, vendors, and storeroom. Understands the principles of radiation physics and maintains both patient and operator safety. Complies with all aspects of the Meditech Hospital Information and PACS system. In addition to the above essential functions, all employees must be able to do the following: A.
