Logistics Manager

This position is a Pipeline position that is contingent upon availability and is located in Afghanistan.

Duties: The Logistics manager shall:

  • Have overall responsibility for in-country logistics support for Kabul and regional offices

  • Plan, coordinate, and synchronize with DCOT-L, PMO Staff and Program Section Chiefs on a day-to-day basis for logistics support requirements

  • Have overall responsibility for the receipt of materials and equipment purchased under the TO

  • Have overall responsibility for issuing materials and equipment to include ITAR equipment purchased or inherited for the TO

  • Develop policies and procedures (SOPs) as appropriate to facilitate and integrate the smooth and orderly operation of the logistics staff and logistics functions

  • Perform services that include planning, scheduling, and directing the operations of vehicle maintenance facility

  • Develop, implement, and supervise preventive maintenance programs

  • Periodically review repair work and procedures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and efficiency

  • Recommend vehicles for replacement and prepare specifications

  • Track and review vehicles, parts inventories, shop labor, fuels, and vehicle utilization

  • Review and analyze utilization documentation to recommend vehicle assignment to departments

  • Maintain a coordination relationship with other key staff to ensure synchronization of effort throughout the PMO staff



  • Must have solid analytical skills.

  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills in English.

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant Logistics management/Property management experience.

  • Must possess the mental and physical powers to excel under harsh environmental conditions and demanding expectations for accomplishing a myriad of complicated and challenging tasks simultaneously and with tight deadlines.

  • Must be able to obtain a MRPT certification.

  • Must be willing to live and work in remote and austere conditions.


  • BS/BA degree or an equivalent 7+ years of experience.

  • Experience working in Program management office for Department of State or other US Government Contracts.
