Manages large, complex IT projects. Provides a single point of contact for assigned projects.
Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects.
Takes projects from original concept through final implementation. Defines project scope and
objectives. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Responsible for assembling project team, assigning individual responsibilities,identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of project. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables. Manages the integration of vendor activities and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables. Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team. Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems. May apply advanced expertise in specific technologies. Guides others during the course of completing the project work. Solves complex technical and operational problems. Acts as a resource for teammates with less experience. May have people management responsibilities for a small team. In an Agile environment, may perform duties of a Scrum Master. The Scrum Master is a servant leader who helps teams self-organize, and deliver via effective Agile practices. The Scrum Master supports and enforces the rules of the Scrum process and other rules that the team has agreed upon. The Scrum Master also helps the team coordinate with other teams and communicates status to management as needed. The Scrum Master is charged with planning and scheduling all scrum ceremonies. Monitors KPIs, raising and mitigating risks. The
Scrum Master monitors the health of the team by managing the implementation of improvements as suggested in team retrospectives and having feedback conversations with allteam members on a regular basis.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in and 5 years of experience as a project manager or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. In-depth knowledge of software development practices and information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices. Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function. Ability to plan and manage projects. Ability to solve complex problems by applying best practices. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates. Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information. Preferred Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Banking or financial services experience. Project Management certification. Agile or Six Sigma experience. Experience with processes and tools supporting Agile methodologies. Ability to understand technical issues, facilitation skills in planning and leading meetings, reviews and retrospectives. Ability to mentor and coach the team to reach their highest potential. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail. Shows initiative by anticipating risks, issues and opportunities, and escalating them accordingly. Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, TDD,
Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing. Articulate, persuasive, and comfortable interacting with all levels of people. Excellent listener, outstanding facilitation and conflict-resolutions skills, and the ability to work in collaborative environments. Experience with software product development and delivery. A predisposition to patience and tolerance. Comfortable and articulate in challenging change management scenarios, knowing when to insert self and when to fade back.
