This is trades position at the Union III location in Baghdad, Iraq. His position reports to the HVAC Supervisor and the O&M Manager. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of the work assigned but are not necessarily inclusive. . Responsibilities: This position will be an expert in all phases of the HVAC/R and Refrigeration industry. This position will be able to work independently to troubleshoot and/or install any of these systems. The Refrigeration Mechanic installs, environmental-control systems in residences, office buildings, and other structures, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout, mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, fabricates, assembles and installs ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment, and installs evaporator unit in chassis or in air-duct system, using hand tools. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive. DUTIES: - Accomplishes refrigeration installation and maintenance tasks on maintenance and construction projects in Iraq - Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on refrigeration and cooling equipment in accordance with the preventive maintenance program. This includes installation and startup of refrigeration and cooling equipment utilizing special tools and equipment - Keeps refrigeration inventory up to date and orders replacement parts as needed - Acts as EPA required “Refrigerant Manager” for CFC tracking, leak detection and reporting functions - Works with all electrical components from disconnect throughout equipment - Accomplishes various projects utilizing design drawings, diagrams, and specifications - Submit reports as required by supervisor - Must be able to lift the safety regulation maximum - Complies with all Environmental Safety and Health and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. Provides documentation to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation - Maintains a safe workplace program and ensures that safety is the highest priority in the workplace - Performs other duties as required


EXPERIENCE: - - Minimum 4 years experience required in refrigeration mechanic work, including installation and maintenance of refrigeration equipment - Two to five years of overseas work experience - Ability to collect, analyze and summarize data and prepare daily reports and work orders REQUIRED: - Education: A high school diploma or equivalent. Refrigeration license is required. - Security Vetting: Must possess an active MRPT or be able to obtain an MRPT security clearance, and maintain eligibility for the duration of the contract - Language Skills: Professional English communication skills, both oral and written - Citizenship: US Citizenship is not required for this position - Medical: Favorable passage of a drug screen and physical examination. - Driver’s License: Candidate must have a drivers‘ license from their Home Country that is valid for the duration of the contract. DESIRED: - Completion of an certification program with a CFC/EPA certificate - Relevant overseas HVAC/R experience preferred - Previous experience working with PAE preferred - Ability to read design drawings and diagrams is preferred - Strongly preferred is extensive experience with air cooled chillers with screw compressors OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Knowledge of ALL principles and processes involved in supporting refrigerant functions at an overseas facility - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer services - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules - Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Expert computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel - Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team - Must have the ability to be innovative and be an agent for change - Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information PAE is an equal opportunity employer and a drug-free work environment
