Truck Driver Operator


This is a trade’s position, based at the Baghdad Diplomatic Support Compound (BDSC) Baghdad, Iraq and will be associated with the Material Handling Equipment (MHE) section.


DUTIES: The selected candidate will be responsible for performing BDSC personnel transportation requirements. This position reports to the MHE Supervisor. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive. - Operate vehicles listed below in a safe and knowledgeable manner: - 40 foot tractor/trailer combination in a confined area. - 10-18 cubic meter tipping bed truck. - Street sweeper. - Bobcat skid-steer. - Cement truck. - PAE and DOS light vehicles. - Read and interpret instructions and documentation. - Transport passengers as directed. - Follow all safety rules. - Wear prescribed personnel protective equipment (PPE). - Fueling, dispatch, operator maintenance and cleaning of assigned vehicles. - Participate in equipment inventories. - Prepare additional reports and perform additional duties as assigned by the MHE Supervisor. - Become proficient in the use and completion of work orders (WO) produced by the Work Orders for Windows (WOW) database.


EXPERIENCE: - Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective. - Excellent organizational and time management skills. - Ability to work effectively with multi-national staff and demanding customers. - Class A CDL. REQUIRED: - Minimum Acceptable Experience Level: Must have three years’ experience as a truck driver with manual and automatic transmissions. - Education: A high school diploma or GED is required and candidate must provide a valid license, from their country of origin, with at least 12 months validity remaining before expiration. In addition, the candidate must provide proof of certification to operate heavy equipment and oversize busses from a recognized licensing program. - Security Vetting: Ability to obtain a favorable MRPT certification prior to being hired is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required certification level for the duration of the contract - Language Skills: Strong, professional, oral and written English communication skills - Citizenship: US Citizenship is NOT required for this position - Medical: Favorable passage of a drug screen and physical examination DESIRED: - Relevant overseas contract experience - Experience working with PAE OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Knowledge of ALL principles and processes involved in operating and supporting motor vehicle functions at an overseas facility. - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer services. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules. “PAE is an equal opportunity employer and drug- free workplace”
