The HUD VASH psychiatrist is responsible for the psychiatric assessment and follow up of Veterans with mental health conditions that are assigned to the HUD VASH program. The psychiatrist will be an active member of an interdisciplinary team composed of social work case managers, advance nurse practitioner and other clinicians. The psychiatrist will serve as the collaborating physician to the psychiatric advance nurse practitioner. Team members assess patients in the community where they live as well as at the Bill Young Medical Center. Experience with addictive disorders is and approved Fellowship, ASAM or AAAP certification is preferred.
