We are currently seeking a Proteomic Mass Spectrometry Scientist to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.

TASKS. The contractor shall:
Lead a collaborative proteomics project focused on molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration within the NINDS Translational Neuroscience Center. Collaborate with investigators on designated projects. Prepare and run samples for discovery-based and targeted proteomic mass spectrometry, including the following:
Data-dependent acquisition Data-independent acquisition Absolute Quantification (AQUA) Selected Reaction Monitoring (SRM) Parallel Reaction Monitoring (PRM)
Perform bioinformatics analysis of proteomic mass spectrometry data. Present findings to the team in oral and written formats. Collaborate with staff in writing manuscripts, describing findings and results.
REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:
Ph.D. in a related discipline; three (3) years of specialized experience plus a Master’s degree is equivalent to a Ph.D. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in quantitative proteomic mass spectrometry. Experience with discovery-based proteomic mass spectrometry, data-dependent acquisition and data-independent acquisition. Experience with targeted proteomic mass spectrometry, Absolute Quantification (AQUA), Selected Reaction Monitoring (SRM) and Parallel Reaction Monitoring (PRM). Experience with bioinformatics analysis of proteomic mass spectrometry data. Experience with sample preparation for proteomic mass spectrometry. Outstanding record of publication. Strong communications skills, both oral and written. Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
