We offer an ideal opportunity for a Urologist looking to make transition out of hospital practice. This is strictly an outpatient practice with no night or weekend call.

Bllings is a Health Care center with a VA Ambulatory Basic surgery center in a new state of the art facility with two OR's and cystoscopy room. The primary procedures will be cystoscopy, prostate biopsy and vasectomy. Other procedures such as small bladder tumors and Green light laser for medium TUR as allowed by VA Complexity Matrix. Our team also includes a part time Urology PA. The Billings community has two tertiary hospitals which offer Non VA care for radiation, robotics and oncology services.

Billings is located in south-central Montana and divided by picturesque long cliffs known as Rimrocks. Salary will be determined by a physician compensation panel and will be dependent upon experience and education.


The Billings Health Care Center is seeking a board certified or board eligible Urologist to practice general urology in the Ambulatory Basic Surgery Center. Excellence in patient care is mandatory. The incumbent is accountable to the Chief and Associate Chief of the Surgical Services Billings for assuring the most effective delivery of state-of-the-art urological care by meeting or exceeding compliance standards. Participates in all aspects of the general urology program, including the following: provide urological outpatient care (invasive and noninvasive) to all scheduled and walk-in patients, inform patients (and/guardians, caretakers and family members when appropriate) with alternative treatment and diagnostic modes and the risks and benefits of each. The incumbent will provide pre-operative evaluation of each patient scheduled for elective cases. The incumbent is responsible for providing the patient with risks, benefits, and alternative treatments and obtaining informed consent from the patient or guardian before conducting invasive procedures. The incumbent is responsible for encouraging family member or members/guardians to be involved with the patients' care, perform invasive procedures; cystoscopies, vasectomies, circumcisions, small bladder tumors, prostate biopsy, Green light laser TUR, and assume total responsibility for all perioperative care for his or her patients.

*Work Schedule: *Monday through Friday; 8:00 to 4:30 or as agreed upon with the possibility of extended hours and weekends. This position may have the option of being part time.

Basic Requirements:

  • Citizenship of the United States. Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with Department of Veterans Affairs policy.
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Completion of a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
