TheClinicalApplicationManagerposition is responsible for the successful creation and implementation of a standardized clinical content program for the Ambulatory EHR. This will include the creation and facilitation of a content management process, the facilitation of clinical content development, and the ongoing support of a standard clinical content model. Clinical content will include templates, order sets, disease management and any clinical content builds utilized for the successful implementation and use of the application. The position requires solid clinical knowledge and the ability to facilitate and communicate discussions built around specialty content development within the EHR application.

The Clinical Application Manager is also responsible for clinical workflow development and recommendations for practice users. He/she will serve as the clinical expert for the use of EHR and suggest workflows to enhance practice efficiency, streamlined provider/staff documentation, and patient throughput. He/she will work closely with the Physician Services Group (PSG) Chief Medical Information Officer and PSG Information Technology & Systems (IT&S) departments to stay abreast of new system releases and create workflows for new/enhanced functionality.

The Clinical Application Manager also assists with facilitation for EHR implementation efforts, for both centrally-led implementations and division-led implementations, from a clinical content and workflow recommendation perspective. Depending on the specialty, he/she may be required to build new content within the system to accommodate a new practice or provider’s transition to our HCA-hosted version of eClinicalWorks EHR. The Clinical Application Manager will also assist in optimization efforts/projects and provide clinical expertise for more efficient use of the EHR. The position requires interaction with all organizational levels with an in-depth understanding and appreciation for clinical information, workflow analysis, and technology’s capabilities, limitations, and impact on clinical practices. · Collaborate with Director on the design, development and maintenance of clinical quality content, reporting and workflow solutions for ambulatory EHR applications to meet compliance and contractual requirements, including government programs, HCA initiatives, and corporate/division/facility requirements

· Responsible for hiring, mentoring, and developing Clinical Application Analyst(s) focused on providing high-quality clinical analysis and support to all Clinical Application Managers and PSG eClinicalWorks users

· Able to identify risks and opportunities regarding the design, implementation, and future use of standard content across the enterprise

· Establish and maintain effective relationships with clinical champions and other stakeholders across the enterprise by working with Director and division EHR teams to recruit clinicians’ leadership, input, and buy-in for the content, quality, and workflow design and maintenance process

· Collaborate on the development of best practices and guiding principles for content development, use, and maintenance within a common EHR framework

· Content will initiallyfocus on multispecialtycliniciandocumentationvia templatesas wellasstandardinpatientandoutpatientordersetdesign,but willalsoincludeareassuchaspatienteducation,clinicalreferences,standardnomenclatures,anddecision supportdesign

· Participate in the creation of clinical implementation toolkits for deployment across ambulatory facilities

· Assist withdefiningreportsfordiseasemanagement andclinicaloutcomes

· Assist,andsupportEHRteamleadsandmembersin theimplementationof thespecialtycontent,includingonsitesupportandprovidingdocumentationforpreparation,statusandissuestovariouspartsoftheorganizationincludingseniormanagement,CSG, PSG, division and facilityexecutives/leadership as requested

· Assist with medication management in the EHR, as directed by the Ambulatory Clinical Informatics Pharmacist and/or CSG Pharmacy team

· Assist in medication safety and risk reduction projects

· Serve asanapplicationexpertfortheclinicalcomponents of theEHR
