Weare seeking an attorney with at least 3 years of experience to join the SanofiNorth America (NA) Legal Department. This position will support US Market Access and US Marketed Products. Thisposition reports to Head of Market Access Legal in Bridgewater, NJ and willwork with other Market Access and Marketed Product attorneys in the LegalDepartment. This position will be basedin Bridgewater, NJ. However, dependingon the candidate, we are open to a Senior Corporate Counsel or Cambridgelocation.

Key responsibilities are as follows:

1.Ensure that client operations comply withapplicable laws and company policies, including Anti-kickback Statute and otherUS healthcare compliance laws and regulations, antitrust, and FDA requirements;

2.Ensure that interactions with market accesscustomers, health care professionals and patients comply with applicable legalrequirements and company policies;

3.Work closely with internal teams to establishrelationships and deliver consistent, practical legal guidance andsupport;

4.Draft, negotiate and review discount andrebate agreements, distribution agreements, and other market access agreementsfor portfolio products;

5.Analyze business initiatives for antitrust, fraudand abuse, FDA and other regulatory compliance;

6.Identify and analyze legal risks and proposeappropriate actions to secure compliance with relevant rules, regulations, andpolicies;

7.Interact with and advise business leaders in theUS concerning legal issues that have a direct effect on the success of thecompany;

8.Draft, negotiate, and review health careprofessional, vendor, licensing, consulting, speaker, advertising, sponsorship,and other agreements for commercial operations and medical affairs;

9.Analyze product promotional initiatives, advisoryboard proposals, speaker programs, and medical education initiatives for FCPA,fraud and abuse, FDA, and other regulatory compliance;

10.Advise on brand strategic planning and businessoperation plans;

11.Counseland support business and technology teams by providing advice on legal,contractual and privacy requirements related to websites, mobile applications, andsimilar initiatives;

12.Review and advise on media relations materialsincluding press releases, standby statements, Q & A documents, web sitesand other company communications;

13.Ensure that clients are kept abreast of allrelevant legal developments in their areas of business;

14.Counsel and collaborate with the Compliance departmenton policy interpretation, training, and other relevant activities;

15.Coordinate of legal aspects of client projects;

16.Contribute to the achievement of clients’business objectives;

17.Acts as Legal Department representative oncross-functional teams, as assigned; and

18.Coordinate with and supportofother members of the US Market Access Legal and US Regulatory Law groups plussupport of GBU (Global Business Unit) Support colleagues, asneeded.


Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of post-J.D. experience;and

  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in New Jersey


  • Prior experience as a member of an in-house legal department at a biotechnology or pharmaceuticals company

  • Experience working in a matrix, international environment
