Weatherford is actively searching for a Tax Analyst to support the Canadian corporate income tax compliance and reporting function. This position reports to the Region Tax Manager. The position will involve dealing with various government auditors and their queries, as well as various operations and business units. This position is based out of our downtown Calgary office.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Collaboration with various groups within the company to collect, analyze and prepare documentation to support annual corporate tax return filings
Preparation of monthly current and deferred tax provisions, annual return to accrual and tax basis balance sheet, and related analysis for timely and accurate US GAAP reporting
Completion and filing of corporate income tax returns, and information returns
Preparation of accounting entries and maintenance of supporting documents relating to income taxes
Managing cash forecasts and organizing the appropriate remittances to the government authorities
Research into current tax developments, communicating and applying new developments to the business.
Liaise with government tax authorities in relation to tax audits and ongoing tax administration
Assist with international tax matters: FAPI, withholding taxes, information reporting, transfer pricing.
Assist with ad hoc tax projects.
Professional designation and completion of the CICA In-Depth Tax Course is preferred
Minimum 3 years of experience in a corporate income tax environment, including income tax provisions, tax compliance and corporate tax research
Experience with JDE accounting system and knowledge of Sharepoint, Hyperion and CorpTax would be an asset
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with other business units and tax authorities in relation to tax matters
Strong team player with a desire to learn new skills
