Job Responsibilities/Department Description:
Generate analysis and monitor R&D operational progress and performance
Work with the various disciplines within IPOM to improve the quality and standards of reported data throughout the PRC data sources
Contribute to the design of a multi-year Global R&D long range plan, including key deliverables, resourcing situation and the investments required to drive the portfolio
Work with the Finance, Strategy. and Global R&D functional teams to support the global planning and prioritization exercises (budget, LRP processes, portfolio review..)
Analyze and report the Quarterly Global R&D baseline plan including variances and impact assessment
Support the preparation of the quarterly baseline analysis
Analysis of plan, resource and cost data and preparation of the budget and LRP exercises
Analysis around Operational performance related to efficiency and productivity
Provide Standard internal management analysis at Project and Portfolio level
Participate to ad-hoc projects / initiatives in R&D related to portfolio management
Provide Support to the R&D Working Groups and Business Partners by:
Performing drug development program summary including plan, resource, cost and risk analysis, in preparation of the Working Groups meetings
Analyzing impact of Working Groups recommendations
Support the IPOM business partners (Platforms, Therapeutic areas, Hubs etc.) in evaluation of plan and resources trade-off options
Perform projects economic valuation:
Collect projects hypotheses and forecasts, and ensure consistency of data and alignment with defined project development plan.
Perform project valuations using the Corporate valuation model
Advanced Degree (MBA, PharmD, PhD) and 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry, and with experience in R&D or Business
High level of knowledge and understanding of drug development strategies and processes.
Risk analysis and management.
Analytical skills: ability to search, select, analyze and synthesize data and information from various domains.
Proven ability to identify critical issues and the potential solutions.
Ability to develop a global view on projects / therapeutic area from scientific/medical aspects to financial analysis.
Understanding of financial valuation methodologies and tools
Good knowledge and use of tools such as Excel, Think Cell, Power Point, Optime, Spotfire
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to interact and build strong relationships with project teams and support functions within R&D
Willingness to work as a team, in a global and matrix organization
Ability to challenge status quo and propose new ideas.
