Job Requirements:

-Prepare,file and prosecute US, EPO and foreign patent applications inbiotechnology areas.

-Interact with clients(Therapeutic Units, Divisions and R&D technology platforms) in the US and Europeon a daily basis to provide client counselling and proactively solicitinvention disclosures.

-Proactivelycounsel clients about IP strategy related to client’s business.

-Providepatentability evaluation of IP related to internal or external projects.

-Initiate,defend and manage post issuanceproceedings such as post grant review, inter partes review, oppositions,litigation.

-Participate in the drafting,reviewing and negotiation of agreements covering intellectual property rights.

-Conduct,direct and analyze patent searches and render opinions onvalidity, non-infringement and patent avoidance of third-party patents.

-Reviewproposed research papers and other publications for any impact on existingpatent estate.


Basic Qualifications:

-JDfrom an accredited law school

-Graduate degree (MS, PhD)in a biological or biochemistry science, a PhD would be a plus.

-RegisteredPatent Attorney

-Member of at least one USState Bar

-8 years minimum of patentlaw experience gained in-house and/or in a law firm. Experience in handlingbiologics IP matters, especially therapeutic biological molecules, such asantibodies, peptides, nucleic acids and cytokines, biologics platformactivities (bioprocesses, formulations, drug device combinations, etc.) Abilityto independently handle preparation and prosecution of patent applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience in handling USInter Partes Reexaminations and EP Oppositions.

-Ability to work in a teamwithin an international professional network and interact with colleagues inother countries.

-Familiaritywith French and/or German would be an asset.
