FLORIDA NATIONAL GUARD
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:* This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.*

AREA OF CONSIDERATION
: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to Category 1 & 2 Only. Category 1: All permanent/indefinite military technicians in the Florida National Guard; and Category 2: All current military members of the Florida National Guard. First consideration will be given to Category 1.
INTRODUCTION: This position is located in a Company/Battery/Troop size unit of the Army National Guard co-located in the vicinity of the higher headquarters. The primary purpose of this position is to represent the commander in day-to-day operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Advises the commander on training, logistics, personnel and unit mobilization readiness requirements and ensure the unit develops, updates, and maintains comprehensive mobilization plans. Serves as primary point of contact for input into the unit readiness reports. Manages the military school program of the unit. Prepares and/or reviews training directives, individual training records, operation orders, mobilization plans, SOP's, and readiness reports. Forecasts, allocates, and monitors the usage of training ammunition for the unit. As directed, ensures the armory is properly cared for, safeguarded and the process for rental of the facility is handled in accordance with governing directives. Maintains working relationship with local officials. Coordinates the recruiting and retention efforts of the unit with full-time Recruiting and Retention personnel. Provides day-to-day supervision for AGR soldiers and dual status technicians.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates performance of duties related to a readiness technician position. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-08 must have at least 18 months experience in the interpretation and application of regulations, procedures or laws. Experience involving administrative functions. Experience utilizing research tools. Experience providing guidance and setting priorities.
NOTE #1: Security Clearance requirements are determined by position and/or MOS/AFSC compatibility.
COMPATIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: All applications will be considered regardless of Branch/AOC/FA/MOS. Incumbent will be required to be assigned to and qualify in a compatible military position in one of the following: EMOS: Predominant MOS of the unit or organization.
MILITARY GRADE: Enlisted
Only applicants in military grade E5 through E7 will be considered.

Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.
