Job Description:

The Key Account Specialist - Oncology role is a field-based position working closely with Medical Oncologists and Key Urologists, as well as their staff (Nurses, Coordinators, etc.) as the Sanofi Genzyme products / services expert to ensure cross-functional resources are made available as appropriate to facilitate the use of relevant Sanofi Genzyme products. In this role, you will work closely with Marketing, Medical, Sales, Patient Support, and other Head Office colleagues. As part of this role you will also be responsible for scientific exchange of all Sanofi Genzyme products (Jevtana, Fasturtec and future pipeline therapies) as they relate Specialists involved in the treatment of Prostate Cancer.

The ideal candidate is highly motivated with a proven record in Oncology sales particularly within the Prostate Cancer setting, superior business acumen, effective management of resources and ability to achieve or surpass corporate goals and sales objectives. The successful candidate will be bilingual in both French and English.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oncology products (Jevtana/Fasturtec) sales in assigned territory

  • Achieve sales objectives and profitably manage territory budget/expenses

  • Develop and implement annual territory business plan based on market data and marketing plans. Ensure continuous follow-up and update the plan in response to changing market dynamics.

  • Play a key role in enabling the understanding of the potential role of Sanofi Genzyme products in the optimization of Metastatic Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer (mCRPC) treatment and the treatment of Hyperuricemia caused by all cancer therapies

  • Work within Institutions at all levels to support acceptance and access to Sanofi Genzyme products including management of all Formulary and budget decision making processes

  • Work with relevant community based specialists to peer:peer sharing of optimal treatment algorithms

  • Develop territory database for all targeted customers and accounts to be used locally and nationally.

  • Identify, profile, cultivate and maintain customer relationships

  • Build advocacy within assigned territory

  • Implement regional CME (Continuing Medical Education) programs

  • Perform all required administrative duties. This includes all expense reports, marketing reports, and call reporting.

  • Work within the Sanofi Genzyme regulatory and legal compliance guidelines.

  • Attend local, regional and national meetings as directed

  • Successfully complete all training programs provided by Sanofi Genzyme.

  • Maintain in good order all company property.

  • Be willing and able to travel (Nationally and Internationally) approximately 60% of the time (somewhat dependent on where successful candidate lives)

  • Evening and weekend work will be required.



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent & French/English bilingual

  • 8 years sales representative experience in the pharmaceutical industry that includes 4 years specialty/oncology experience preferably to a mCRPC treater audience

  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to achieve superior sales results

  • Leads by example and demonstrates high level of collaboration with internal and external counterparts

  • Effectively develops and executes sales strategies to achieve revenue targets in assigned sales territories

  • Demonstrated solution-oriented approach to selling and ability to articulate value propositions appropriate to each level of contact

  • Exhibits superior persuasion and negotiation skills to win commitment

  • Possess excellent technical aptitude and the ability to conduct disease/concept selling

  • Understanding of local managed markets (public and private) and institutional/hospital environments

  • Demonstrate superb written, verbal and presentation skills

  • Possess excellent planning and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently to execute against strategic and tactical plans under tight timelines.

  • Be computer literate including the ability to use CRM, word processing, spreadsheets, databases and e-mail software
