JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent in this job is responsible for McLane Foodservice network planning and transportation routing to minimize delivery times and transportation costs while improving logistics tracking, execution and customer service. The Analyst works with key executives and transportation department personnel to properly use a rolling asset tracking system and provide timely reporting and data analysis to improve a truck driver’s ability to deliver product in an efficient manner. Provides transportation systems support, best practices, metrics and reporting.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Complete static, cyclical and seasonal routing using provided routing software.
Create baseline data and full routing complement to Dispatchers and Transportation Managers using routing software.
Provide divisional support and technical assistance for transportation systems to include but not limited to user updates, data management and system maintenance.
Develop summarized reports and conduct analysis of transportation performance to key executives throughout the company.
Analyze and summarize transportation systems software data and routing software data to assess expected and actual performance to plan.
Continually improve the routing process to reduce miles, improve customer estimated times of arrival and reduce the overall workload within the department.
Explore routing scenarios for "what if" options, operational performance analysis and strategic planning.
Develop relationships with corporate partners and field operations to understand needs, develop solutions and support execution of those solutions.
Understand and positively impact the company's receiving, distribution and delivery operations.
Assist a Senior Analyst with data collection and analysis on projects.
Conduct “what if” routing solutions to support sales bid process
Provide transportation systems support, best practices, metrics and reporting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
A teammate in this position must have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Logistics, Transportation, Industrial Engineering or related field.
A minimum three years of relevant experience in dispatching, freight management/brokerage or process engineering.
Knowledge of routing software a plus.
An understanding of fleet tracking software (PeopleNet knowledge a plus).
A working knowledge of data management tools including databases and spreadsheets (particularly SQL, Access and Excel).
Strong analytic, problem solving, decision making, communication and presentation skills.
A results driven demeanor, be a self-motivator and possess a proven ability to continuously improve processes and annual metrics.
Up to 30% travel required
Provide 24/7 transportation systems support
