Job Description SummaryThe Actuarial Annuities & Retirement area is looking for a talented, sharp, and creative individual to focus on Methodology and Special Projects for the Market Consistent Valuation area. This position will report directly to the MVN Head under the new org structure, and will function as a key shared resource to the product leads that also report to the MVN Head.Job Description
Job and compensation levels depend upon an applicant’s qualifications including the extent of his/her relevant experience and other job related factors and will be determined by hiring supervisors/managers and HR.
Liaison with Group and help coordinate and implement methodology driven by Group;
Take lead role in more complex model/methodology changes. E.g., analyzing issues driving changes, developing changes needed to resolve issues, assist with testing these changes, providing documentation, etc.
Assisting with change management process, especially for larger/more complex changes.
Special projects include assisting with the following:
Coordination of requests that affect multiple product lines;
Process improvement (e.g., assisting with version updates to models, streamlining models/processes, etc.);
New model development, especially more complex products that are new.
Backup for other lead product positions;
Working larger issues that may come up during quarter end work.
Answering questions from PMT, Pricing areas, etc.;
Requires a graduate degree in mathematics, actuarial science, finance, business, or related field with at least 7 years relevant work experience OR Bachelor’s degree and FSA/CFA/Equivalent Designation plus 7 years relevant work experience OR Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years relevant work experience. Must possess excellent understanding of investment and finance concepts, and be able to creatively apply them in solving analytical problems in the business setting. Should have an excellent understanding of investment and insurance products. Must possess excellent communication skills.
+ + Strong theoretical background, especially with respect to:
Understanding of derivatives and asset classes and their valuation
Knowledge of various asset classes, derivatives and reinsurance.
The following qualifications would also be a plus:
Knowledge of a variety of insurance products (e.g., annuities, pensions, etc.)
Familiarity with the MVN framework
