Transamerica Manager, Vendor Governance Office in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Job Description SummaryAt Transamerica we are looking to hire a Manager for the Vendor Governance Office to help continue to drive a comprehensive and effective vendor risk management (VRM) program that reduces financial, legal and reputational risk. He/she will be a forward-thinking leader with a successful history of driving vendor risk assessments and vendor performance programs in accordance with internal policy and regulatory requirements. The position reports directly to the Procurement, Outsourcing & Vendor Management Office and has a dotted line reporting relationship to Operations Leadership.Job Description
Analyze, update and modify processes and procedures to identify and continuously implement VRM process improvements
Provide guidance to the business and other stakeholders to ensure VRM requirements are fully understood
Conduct, manage and strengthen vendor risk assessments and due-diligence reviews
Ensure vendor compliance to business agreements, policies & procedures and regulations
Understand and map internal controls to vendor risks and compliance requirements
Review vendor policies & procedures, internal/external assessment reports, checklists, contracts & agreements and provide feedback to senior management
Manage provision assessment reports and executive summaries with recommendations & direction regarding remediation efforts and disposition of vendors
Communicate, escalate, and routinely track progress on risk assessments and remediation efforts
Participate as needed in operational meetings and provide regular status updates
Understand information security risks that are inherent to the business, articulate those risks to the business and stay up-to-date on emerging risks, trends
Assist with the technical and behavioral development of personnel
Provide career counseling and mentoring to junior members of the team
Perform and deliver annual reviews for team resources as assigned
Minimum six years of audit/risk experience with a focus on enterprise business services
Must possess excellent time management, decision-making, human relations, presentation and organizational skills
Must possess strong leadership skills combined with an analytical skillset
Must be able to collaborate and work well with other areas of the business
Must possess superior professional presence and business acumen
Must have advanced proficiency using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS or equivalent field
Master’s degree or MBA is preferred, not required
Certifications (preferably Certified Public Accountant) are a plus

Job and compensation levels depend upon an applicant’s qualifications including the extent of his/her relevant experience and other job related factors and will be determined by hiring supervisors/managers and HR.
