Job Description:

The primary objective of the Quality Inspection II position is to inspect parts for compliance with customer prints prior to shipment to ensure parts are shipped to the customer requirements, as well as inspecting incoming parts from vendors to print. This may include inspecting both plastic and metal parts. The inspection process is documented and retained.


• Applies job skills and established company policies, methods, and procedures to complete a variety of tasks.

• Inspects parts to customer and vendor print.

• Works with customers and vendors to ensure quality standards.

• Works with the production scheduler to ensure on-time deliveries.

• Proficient in use of applicable inspection equipment.

• Disposes of used MEK and IPA rags as appropriate.

• Properly labels and disposes of used IPA.

• Documents inspection information on computer, work orders, and quality check sheets, as required.

• Maintains an external customer quality level of 99%.

• Provides day-to-day support to the Quality Inspection I position.

• Participates as an active work team member.

• Trains and assists others as required.

• Willing to cross-train as required.

• Works overtime when required to support customer and vendor demand.

• Cleans and maintains work area.

Job Specific Competencies

• Understands and applies all inspection equipment necessary to check product for quality.

• Understands, follows, and completes quality documentation.

• Receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments, and can work with limited supervision.

• Estimates labor hours to produce new parts and initiates cost reduction on current parts.

• Utilizes the knowledge and direction of the lead person.

• Uses job knowledge to continuously improve the quality and cost of finished products.

• Reads and understands all relevant work instructions.

• Read and understands all engineering drawings.

• Develops relevant work instructions as required.


Minimum Requirements:

MUST BE KNOWLEDGEABLE IN ISO 9001:2008, and able to use QC equipment effectively

• Adheres to all Company policies.

• Knows, understands, and supports Quality Policy and Quality Objectives and understands how this position affects the outcome of both.

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.

• 3 + years related experience.

• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

• Knows of hazards associated with duties.

• Knowledge in the handling and disposal of hazardous waste.

• Knows of and is able to wear personal protective equipment necessary for duties performed.

• Knows how to activate emergency response procedures.

• Knows how to operate applicable emergency equipment.

• Pro-active, decisive, objective, adaptable, and flexible.

• Realistic about his/her limitations.

• Able to lift 50 pound unassisted and over 50 pounds with assistance.

• Able to react calmly to changing circumstances.

• Able to communicate clearly and professionally, both written and verbal.

• Able to work well with others.

• Able to take directions.

• Able to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets.

• Able to read engineering documents and drawings without assistance.

• Able to use all inspection equipment, as applicable.

• Able to analyze and solve problems.

Environmental Demands:

• Exposure to areas where heavy machinery is in use.

• Exposure to work that requires extended periods of repetitive motion in a seated or standing position.

• Strict adherence to area safety procedures.

• Ability to handle stress caused by schedules and overtime.
