SC Department of Public Safety Administrative Specialist II WIC/IMM North Area in Charleston County, South Carolina

Under supervision of the Lead Administrative Specialist, performs a variety of clerical and customer service duties in support of the WIC programs, to include Immunization services. Duties would be performed in a culturally competent manner and within Agency customer service guidelines. Performs all Administrative duties required to provide WIC and Immunization Services to authorized clients. Includes: Completes intake and out-take of patient data, utilizes program data systems and Office 365 email systems, conduct Medicaid eligibility interviews and applying clients for Medicaid if applicable. Bills Medicaid, Private pay and other third party billing systems. Financially screens all clients appropriately. Collect payments daily if applicable. Prints cash drawer total daily in accordance with DHEC policies and clinic procedures. Maintain correct change fund balance. Performs all administrative duties required to provide WIC services to customers. Includes utilizing the CARES computer systems, conducting eligibility interviews, validating and issuing food instruments and Farmer's Market checks, mails reminder letters and processes lost/stolen food instruments. Informs and educates clients on program policies and procedures. Completes incoming and outgoing transfers. Input 1st HEPb immunization on infants. Provides quality customer service in a culturally competent manner in face-to-face and/or telephone encounters and maintains client confidentiality. Ensures official DHEC forms are placed in the proper chart order in accordance with DHEC policy. Interviews clients per clinic guidelines, establishes client record and retrieves/returns charts to medical records. Submits PCAS and other required program reports monthly or by designated deadlines. Participates in an emergency or major disaster to expedite services to the public as outlined in the DHEC/Region plan. During such time, the incumbent should regard her/himself as being on 24-hour call and subject to duty when such events occur, or are anticipated to occur. Other duties as assigned. Minimum and Additional Requirements: A high school diploma or GED and two years of administrative office experience, or an Associate Degree in secretarial science or a related field and one year of experience, or three years of clerical experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual preferred. Experience providing customer service in a medical office environment is preferred.
