Dewberry is seeking a Civil Engineer for its Charlotte, NC office. The candidate we are seeking will be a highly motivated and qualified individual with a proven track record of design and construction experience in a variety of private and public municipal, land development and capital improvement projects in the area. Individual will be responsible for design in all aspects of project design for site development, water and wastewater and capital improvement projects including site layout, grading , soil erosion, detention basin design, storm sewer, water main, sanitary sewer, force main, pump station design plans, roadways as well as preparation of all associated calculations, reports and spreadsheets. This person will perform project design duties with a team to develop detailed design documents for construction projects. The ideal candidate will complement the current team by providing additional detailed engineering and construction experience. Must be experienced in technical design and theory in planning and design of complex projects. Must have the ability to coordinate project submittals, facilitate regulatory agency approvals, and obtain construction permits. Candidates should have the ability to work closely with clients and agency staff, including attendance at public and/or construction meetings and also represent the company at other events as needed. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering.

  • 2-5 years of experience directly related to design and construction of land development and capital improvement projects.

  • EIT required.

  • Strong computer skills utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D, Water CAD, Storm CAD as well as Microsoft Office programs.
