The Division of Infectious Diseases at the VA Medical Center, Salisbury NC is seeking a physician with training in General Infectious Diseases and expertise in hepatitis C management and research to join a multidisciplinary infectious disease program.

The position is a full time clinician-educator track and will require clinical faculty appointment at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. The infectious disease program at the Salisbury VAMC provides complex inpatient and outpatient services with dedicated support staff and operational space. The clinic is supported by in-clinic clinical ID pharmacist, mental health and dedicated nursing staff. Responsibilities will include supervision of infectious disease fellows and residents from Wake Forest University, and management of patients with HIV, chronic hepatitis C and general infectious diseases conditions. The program has in-clinic advanced diagnostic capabilities such bedside ultrasonography, FibroScan, high resolution anoscopy, light microscopy and a procedure room for performance of minor surgical procedures. The infectious disease specialist attending on the teaching service provides coverage for inpatient service. Medical students regularly rotate on the infectious disease program. The infectious disease program is highly focused on outcomes and also strongly encourages research activity.

Candidates will have an academic appointment with Wake Forest University commensurate with level of experience and can attend ID CME credited educational activities through video conferencing.

Infectious disease board certification is preferred.

The selected candidate will work Monday - Friday, with on-call duties required (evenings/weekends), as necessary.
