Location: Cleveland, OH (Greater Cleveland area)Shift: Hours vary - split shift approximately 6am-10am & 12pm-4pm (schedule may change depending on routes)Full Time - 30+ hours per week
The driver is responsible for safely transporting adults with developmental disabilities to and from their residence to employment sites.
Complete daily trip check prior to each route.
Note all service needs to Manager of Developmental Services
Assist passengers on and off the vehicle and work with residential staff or VGS staff who may be assisting to load and unload passengers For wheelchair bound passenger, driver will secure the wheelchair to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchair during trip according to standards outlined in trainings.
Must know advance trip destination by routing / charting maps.
Must follow designated route unless change is reported to Manager of Developmental Services.
Must report to communication base station via provided cellular telephone to report any emergencies, behavioral concerns or disruption of service.
Must maintain the highest level of customer service with the participants at all times.
Must complete a detail cleaning of vehicle bi-weekly and manage the servicing of the vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
Must remove all trash and sweep vehicle at the end of each day.
Maximize gasoline usage by following fixed routes. Responsible for securing all vehicles at the close of business.
Must record mileage and destination information in the Drivers Trip log daily. Additionally, all insurance, safety and vehicle maintenance information are to be kept in an organized and accessible manner on the vehicle.
Follow all Medicaid rules and CARF standards.
Driver is responsible for maintaining all required Medicaid compliance and training.
Complete all required paperwork for Medicaid billing and scan transportation sheets to Manager of Developmental Services and Billing Specialists each week
Responsible to immediately report any unusual behavior of passengers or with regards to vehicle, and follow mandatory reporting guidelines.
Required Skills and Experience
High school education and or GED plus two years experience driving; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Drivers as specified in ORC Chapter 4507 or ORC Chapter 4506. Two years of licensed driving experience. Must meet vision and hearing qualifications contained in 49 CRF, Part 391.41(b)(11).
Drivers must have a driving record with no more than two points (representing two minor or one intermediate infraction) occurred within the last three years. Driver must be approved by the agency driving insurance company.
Able to pass O.D.O.T. physical with recommended vision and hearing.
Must complete mandatory testing required by Medicaid which includes a criminal background check
Must submit to a new hire drug test
