We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager for the Federal Solutions Group business unit with demonstrated skills in business development and business capture across DoD space government organizations. The primary responsibility of this position is to plan, lead and manage activities related to the identification, pursuit, and capture of DoD Space business opportunities in the areas of Space Control and ground systems. Responsibilities include the development of solutions in response to stated customer needs, development/execution of capture plans and strategies, lead of pursuit and proposal activities, and customer relationship management. The qualified candidate will work with other internal support staff to prepare proposals, rough order magnitude estimates and responses to customer requests for information and directly lead capture personnel assigned to these activities. Responsible for day-to-day execution and status reporting of business development and marketing functions for new opportunities in the above markets. Support the development of new business roadmaps for the strategic planning process. Responsible for relevant strategy development, competitive assessment, and market analysis. Must understand Federal Solutions Group core competencies and package them into offerings to potential customers; develop white papers, briefings and marketing collateral to support positioning for and capture of new opportunities. Establish and maintain effective relationships with current and new customers (both government and industry). Gain recognition as a trusted and respected representative of the respective groups, and influence program awards consistent with customer requirements and objectives.
Experience and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in related field
5+ years experience and a strong background with government/industry
Experience operating within DoD Space (Space Control) program environments (Air Force Space Command, Space and Missile Center (SMC/SY), Intelligence community and industry partners)
Demonstrated experience in leading new business capture activities and experience in development of government proposals is required.
Must have the ability to affect decisions/change, provide clear communication, and have strong team skills. Strong briefing, writing, and customer relations skills are critical to the successful execution of the duties of the position.
The candidate must be self-motivated and capable of working independently.
Active Security Clearance desired.
Position located in Colorado Springs, CO.
