General Summary*:*To assist and provide support for clients in meeting their daily needs in a healthy and safe manner. To monitor clients physical, social and behavioral needs and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that the initiation of appropriate interventions and support are provided. To utilize the nursing process as a framework for practice in the care of clients and provides professional client care utilizing the standards of psychiatric and medical nursing care in accordance with the Agency’s policies and procedures. Demonstrates individual accountability and responsibility.
Essential Job Functions*:*
Able to assess client functions and report changes to the team.
Follows through with interventions listed on the client’s treatment plan.
Provides/facilitates education/support for clients in one-on-one or class setting.
Consistently follows and assists clients in following the program structures and schedule.
Maintains a safe and clean environment.
Under the direction of an RN, maintains safe and effective nursing care rendered directly or indirectly by supervision of the Behavioral Health Technician staff.
Continually monitors and documents the client’s response to nursing actions and communicates with RN.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
*Reliable attendance is an on-going essential job function.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Catholic Charities’ mission, values, vision, and ethical standards.
Knowledge of the Catholic Charities Compliance Program requirements including – but not limited to – the Code of Ethics, the Compliance Policy, all organization-wide policies for compliance and compliance procedures affecting specific duties and responsibilities.
Knowledge and understanding of behavioral issues, e.g. addiction and mental illness;
Knowledge of various billing processes, compliance, regulations, and licensing requirements, i.e. COA, HIPPA, 42 CFR Part II;
Skill in sound decision-making and critical thinking;
Skill in interpersonal relations and verbal and written communication;
Ability to plan, organize, and complete complex projects;
Proficiency with various software, (Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.)
Education & Experience*:*
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Nebraska or reciprocal State;
1-3 years nursing experience preferred;
Behavioral Health experience preferred;
CPR for the Health Professional, through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association;
Valid Nebraska Driver’s License and Insurability.
