Trinity Health Unit Coordinator in Columbus, Ohio

- We are seeking aUnit Coordinator**to join our team of dedicated professionals as we continue our mission of improving the health of the communities we serve.
This position is responsible forperforming clerical and administrative duties in support of patient care providers, medical staff, patients, their significant others, blended and extended family members, and outside agencies.
Other responsibilities include:
Meets population specific and all other competencies according to department requirements.
Promotes a Culture of Safety by adhering to policy, procedures and plans that are in place to prevent workplace injury, violence or adverse outcome to associates and patients.
Creates a caring and healing environment that keeps the patient and family at the center of care throughout their experience at Mount Carmel following the principles of our interdisciplinary care delivery system.
Transcribes orders in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with policies.
Assembles and maintains all medical records with current information in approved order.
Communicates accurately all orders and results received to appropriate personnel in a timely manner
Collaborates effectively with the unit charge nurse and/or care manager and/or patient placement to identify bed needs and/or unit needs
Promptly answers phones and patient call lights, relaying messages as appropriate.
Promotes a culture of quality and safety by adhering to policy, procedures and plans that are in place to prevent workplace injury, violence or adverse outcome to associates and patients.
Utilizes appropriate technology and demonstrates continuous learning
Facilitates improvements in patient services, staff relationships and the work environment climate.
Keeps work area organized.
Enters accurate patient charges as assigned.
Keeps patient accommodation updated as ordered.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Other qualifications include:
Previous health care experience or demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Effective communication skills
Knowledge of basic computer skills
Ability to successfully complete the MC Unit Coordinator Training Program
Self motivated, independent worker
Skilled at organizing and prioritizing workload with multitasking abilities
