  • Women’s Health Center Corpus Christi Medical Centeris currently looking for aSepsis Coordinator (RN).

Responsibilities: * The Sepsis Coordinator has a 24 hour responsibility for the Sepsis Program and works in collaboration with the medical and hospital staff to provide multidisciplinary care to the suspected or confirmed septic patient. * Provides clinical, professional expertise for patients, families and staff members. Scope of practice includes providing organized care to the patient with suspected or confirmed sepsis with a focus on health promotion and disease prevention. * Rounds on suspected or confirmed sepsis patients in the emergency department and inpatient units and coordinates care in critical care/sepsis patient care management, ensuring optimal patient care management and outcomes. * Monitors compliance with the sepsis screening process on all nursing units and provides timely feedback to unit leaders. * Monitors sepsis bundle compliance and facilitates compliance with the bundle elements during concurrent rounding. The Sepsis Coordinator also functions as an educator. * Facilitates the quality improvement process and collects and analyzes data surrounding the sepsis patients to assist with documentation, coding, clinical care, and outcomes. * Analyzes the Sepsis Program and develops / submits professional reports on the program successes, opportunities, and lessons learned. * Assumes primary responsibility for the development and submission of Medicaid Waiver (DSRIP) sepsis project reports to the appropriate agency (Health and Human Services Commission). * Conducts research for best practices and refines/implements sepsis orders, protocols, tools and practices to become the standard of care within the facility. * Serves as chairman of the Sepsis Committee and maintains active involvement in nursing and hospital committees as necessary. * Collaborates with all members of the interdisciplinary team to achieve productive movement of the best practices within the organization. * Applies good verbal and nonverbal skills to achieve service goals of customer service and satisfaction. #LI-GULF

  • Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required, MSN preferred
  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner preferred
  • 2 years of experience
