GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:Directs, supervises, and coordinates staff and activities in the front office. Acts as a liaison between front office staff and Practice Manager.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO: 1. Assists in selecting, training, scheduling, and supervising front office personnel 2. Responsible for work assignments and daily operations 3. Gathers and reports date for fiscal, statistical, and planning purposes 4. Monitors compliance of and implements new policies and procedures 5. Assesses urgency of patient’s condition and acts appropriately 6. Schedules initial and follow-up patient appointments 7. Checks patients in and out, coordinates patient flow, maintains order in office 8. Answers incoming phone calls, records and delivers messages 9. Collects co-payments and office visit fees, verifies insurance information 10. Answers billing inquiries or directs inquirer to appropriate source 11. Serves as a backup in the following areas: front office, charge entry and billing reconciliation 12. Orders office supplies as needed 13. Handles incoming and outgoing mail, routes mail to appropriate destinations 14. Performs Workers’ Compensation duties (completes appropriate forms and forwards these forms to employers, obtains necessary authorizations, forwards reports/records to physician case managers and specialists, coordinates patient transfers, notifies employers and adjusters of non-compliance) if appropriate. 15. Perform other duties as required. 16. Must read, understand, and adhere to all HealthONE Physician Care policies and procedures. 17. Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statement.

Qualifications: * Knowledge of basic office equipment including copier, fax machine, and computer. * Skill in dealing with interpersonal issues and customer relations. * Ability to handle multiple priorities at once with minimal supervision. * Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions. * Ability to organize and communicate clearly. * Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information. * One year medical office supervisory experience preferred
