The Mail Clerk will be working at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Denver, CO. This position is located at the Document Control and Data Management Department.
The Mail Clerk (Motor Vehicle Operator) will be responsible for the performance of a variety of clerical and administrative duties concerned with incoming and outgoing mail processing, files maintenance, mail equipment operation, printing of Authorization Cards, and pick-up and delivery of interoffice mail.
Major duties and responsibilities include:
Receives, sorts, counts and screens P.O. Boxes to bundle mail.
Places incoming mail on shelves.
Pick up and delivers all mail received from the U.S. Office.
Processes all mail received.
Reads action material and routes non-control items to appropriate units.
WORK SCHEDULE: MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM. (BASED ON THE AGENCY NEEDS)

EXPERIENCE: Six (6) months of General Experience. General Experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position.
One (1) years of successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, community college, junior college, college or university. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The work consist of prolonged standing, walking, stooping, bending and lifting to transport mail, heavy packages, and mail bins/trays weighing up to 40 pounds. Heavier items are moved with carts, weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers.
