Position Summary

The Department of Psychology at the University of Denver is offering a postdoctoral fellowship to participate in research evaluating the developmental origins of health and disease as part of the Stress, Early Experiences, and Development Research Center. The full-time postdoctoral fellow will be supported by the mentors supplementary funding and have the opportunity to participate in ongoing research projects investigating the consequences of early childhood adversity on brain and behavioral development from infancy through adolescence. The postdoctoral fellow will write scientific papers and grants, be involved in data collection and analysis, and supervise and mentor graduate students. Eligible candidates should have their PhD in psychology, human development, social work, or a related field. We are especially interested in candidates with experience in advanced statistics and child welfare as well as working with multiple principal investigators on federally funded research, intervention trials, and community-engaged scholarship. In addition, we seek candidates with an established publication record and demonstrated ability to secure internal and external funding. This is a full-time benefited position. The position is for one year with the option to continue if funding is available.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for data management and data analysis.
  • Write scientific papers and grant proposals.
  • Meet with senior investigators and team members about needs of the project.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Strong data management and statistical analysis skills.
  • Advanced statistical abilities and experience with various statistical software to accomplish such analyses.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Psychology, Human Development, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Extensive use of advanced statistical techniques including HLM and SEM.
  • At least two years of experience with data management and data restructuring.
  • Experience conducting community-engaged research with multiple investigators.
  • Experience with securing external and internal funding, and established record of funding.* *

Preferred Qualifications

  • Research interest with community partnerships including child welfare and home visitation.
  • Experience conducting intervention studies with children and families.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday.
