A Day in the Life of a Senior Content Strategist:

This position leads strategic planning and content development for the Web Development team. The Senior Content Strategist acts as a key member of both the creative and technical team, working with project managers, user experience analysts, web designers and developers to continuously improve all Meridian web properties (both customer-facing and internal).


  • Develop content strategy for each deliverable/project

  • Assess, catalogue, and organize web site content

  • Assign and track new content development

  • Help with CMS design input and use

  • Create taxonomy/nomenclature lists and definitions

  • Work closely with information architect

  • Write website content and accompanying marketing and communication materials

  • Develop competitive site analyses/gap analysis

  • Manage search engine optimization (SEO) strategy for all web deliverables

  • Measure and monitor analytics and make continuous improvements

  • Provider editorial oversight for content written by others

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce editorial style guidelines

  • Speak and present concepts to company executives and external vendors as-needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor’s degree in area of specialty or related experience in the healthcare marketing or IT industry is required


  • A minimum of six to eight years of experience in the field or in a related field is required


  • Copywriting / content development

  • Marketing strategy

  • User experience design

  • SEO / measurement / analytics

  • Web design and development

  • Working knowledge of HTML

  • Site design and layout

  • Experience with content management systems and databases preferred

  • Healthcare, Medicaid experience preferred


  • Strong technical and analytical skills

  • Strong system design and development skills

  • Good planning and organization skills


  • Ability to troubleshoot and manage problems independently

  • Ability to integrate multiple inter-related aspects of the system for a comprehensive approach to design

  • Ability to work collaboratively with users and internal teams to understand business requirements and develop appropriate solutions
