Material Expediting Services Coordinator-Lead
Reporting to the MESC Supervisor or Manager, the MESC Lead works with senior members of the Material Planning Team; the PMO leadership team; and the Logistics Services Team to ensure that the material expediting staff are working effectively and efficiently to ensure thatn the supplies required to execute contract and task order missions are moving through the logistics chain in time to meet mission in-country availability and delivery schedules, and that the information management tools are enabling staff to execute the material expediting responsibility. Analysis of current roles and processes and suggesting improvements is part of the Lead responsibility.
BA/BS or equivalent, 4-9yrs. Logistics experience, understanding of the material planning process a plus
Good working knowledge and understanding of delivery schedules, 3PL challenges, capabilities and responsibilities, ability to write and contribute to SOP development, when to anticipate and pro-actively check on schedule integrity, coordination with the PMO to ensure mission schedules are current, who the ITCO contacts for regulatory issues are, and that the process associated with PR/PO development are understood. Good oral and written skills, intermediate level competency in in computer and automated expediting management tools desired.
Able to answer service provider and team member questions with regard to schedule integrity, able to identify and report any movement in vendor or mission scheduling that will impact delivery, able to anticipate issues which could adversely affect mission delivery primarily from the partners in the logistics chain meeting on-time performance requirements
Detail oriented and organized; able to understand and coordinate the complex activities of the multiple partners in the logistics chain, expediting's role in the overall success of the missions as defined by the contract and task order SOWs. Good people skills, entry level supervision of team members
Material Expediting Services Coordinators and Supervisors/Manager, Logistics Services Lead or Supervisor, and 3PL POCs (1st Level): daily-weekly with leadership; Logisitics Services and PMO staff (2nd level): weekly during joint staff meetings.
