VA New Jersey Health Care System (VANJHCS) is looking for a Physician to perform work on a fee basis in the Pathology and Laboratory Department. The Physician will be responsible for provided both Anatomical and Clinical Pathology service for the following tasks and will be paid a lump sum fee per task:

  • Performing autopsies with the assistance of a diener;
  • Ordering appropriate ancillary tests (special stains, immunophenotyping, etc.) as needed for autopsies;
  • interprets tissue, cellular and clinical samples as needed to issue (sign-out) final autopsy reports.

Basic Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
