Job Description

Position Summary: Support the coordination and implementation of PPAPs and IMDS along with assuring alignment with quality programs and systems. Leads the consistent application of PPAP’s and ensures quality systems meet ITW SAP’s standards

and conform to customer requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains assigned PPAP and IMDS systems

  • Directs sampling inspection and testing of PPAP parts, components, and materials to determine conformance to standards and customer requirements.

  • Responsible for operation of computer hardware and software related to PPAP data collection and determination of product quality and process capability.

  • Direct contact for customer regarding PPAP and IMDS related issues; coordinate course of action for alleviating and resolving concerns.

  • Review control of PPAP material assure timely and accurate disposition.

  • Interface with both customer and subcontractors as required in such areas as: PPAP, APQP, Process Control Plans, PFMEAs, MSA and SPC, etc.

  • Gathers and reports monthly reports for PPAP status

  • Requires coordination to gather internal documentation and certification/PPAP from suppliers and internal processes on manufactured parts.

  • Must be detail orientated and able to fill out appropriate paperwork with zero errors.

  • Analyze and verify dimensional capability of products and processes (Includes suppliers)

  • Understand Gage R&R’s and what is required.

  • Construct Capability Studies

  • Must speak English and communicate professionally with co-workers, suppliers and customers

  • Respond to PPAP requests with expected completion date within 24 hrs. of request. (Also Annual Revalidation to Ford, & Chrysler and some Misc. Customers)

  • Needs to support timely and comprehensive reporting of PPAP status to customers and management.

  • Must be able to multitask and complete various task requests. (IMDS, Ford’s VPP, Chrysler’s CQMS, GM’s SQMS & PPQP, Certificates of Conformance, Misc. customer websites)

  • Must implement, enforce, and maintain supplier PPAP program

  • Must maintain PPAP samples (Supplier & Internal)

  • Must understand technical customer specifications

Required Qualifications


  • 3 or more years work experience within an automotive Quality Systems setting within manufacturing; PPAP experience preferred.

  • JOEM experience a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must have strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab, Adobe Acrobat & Internet, etc.)

  • Must be able to type efficiently.

  • Candidate must be able to use and read various gage types.

  • Candidate must be able to read blueprints.

  • Experience with Outlook, Adobe & Minitab

  • Must possess time management skills

  • Stamping and or Heat Treat Environment. Experience in Automotive industry preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with team members, managers, co-workers and customers
