Walworth County has an open application period every three months for any clerical opening (for example: a Clerk, Account Clerk, Legal Secretary, Receptionist, etc.) that may occur in any Walworth County office or department.Candidates that pass the testing to be placed on this clerical eligibility list will be eligible for hire fromDecember 1, 2016throughMay 31, 2017.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Providing administrative support as required, data entry, maintaining files and records and other general reception duties.Duties may include operating a computer using word processing tools to prepare a variety of documents, letters, memos, forms, reports, presentations and other correspondence; managing filing systems and databases; operating modern office equipment; and performing other related duties as assigned.
All applicants are required to have a minimum education of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.Knowledge of secretarial, clerical and general office procedures, records management and computer applications using word processing and/or spreadsheet applications is required.Candidates must possess initiative and demonstrate good analytical, organizational and communications skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.The ability to work independently is also required.
APPLICATION REVIEW:All applications will be reviewed for relevant prior clerical experience.If a large number of applications are received, priority (invitations to test) will be given to applicants with the greater amount of prior clerical experience.
SKILLS TESTING:Applicants invited to test for a place on the eligibility list will be contacted byemail to set up a time for testing. The following skills tests will be conducted for all applicants. The minimum passing score for each test is listed in parenthesis.
