Walworth County Facilities & Parks Seasonal Laborer - Limited Term (Public Works) in Elkhorn, Wisconsin
This position is responsible for assisting in the grounds maintenance of Walworth County facilities and parks by operating various types of machinery and equipment while meeting departmental safety policies and procedures.
Days: Monday - Friday as needed
Work Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. as needed
Hours Per Shift: varies

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
Perform basic landscape and lawn care duties, such as mowing designated areas; planting trees, shrubs, flowers and grass seed; manual weed removal and pruning.
Clean buildings and restrooms and stock facilities as required.
Operate various machinery and equipment.
Repair, maintain, paint and/or stain park buildings, structures, signs and equipment.
Remove garbage, litter and debris from buildings, parking lots and grounds.
Show respect and be willing to assist the public.
Perform other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience
Completion of three years of High school required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to follow oral and written instructions with minimum direct supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively and exercise good judgment, courtesy and tact when dealing with the general public.
Ability to operate county vehicles in a safe and defensive manner.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working and public relations with co-workers, the public, vendors and outside agencies.
