Walworth County Quality Operations Manager (Education, Safety, Training) in Elkhorn, Wisconsin
This position is responsible for assisting Lakeland Health Care Center (LHCC) to achieve high quality and continuous improvement through employee education and quality monitoring. This position identifies and works with department managers to correct quality deficiencies.
Days: Monday-Friday Work Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm Hours Per Shift: 8 Shifts Per Pay Period: 10 Position FTE: 1.00 FTE (Full-Time)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Participate in interdisciplinary resident care conferences.
Investigate problems reported by staff and revise care plans.
Serve as the liaison among all LHCC departments.
Develop and implement continuing education programs for the facility.
Provide general orientation for all new LHCC employees.
Provide annual re-orientation for all LHCC employees.
Develop required education sessions for vendor staff.
Develop and maintain a structured Dementia Cares/Behavioral Health Training Program for all employees.
Conduct monthly safety rounds.
Work with the maintenance department and members of the safety committee to conduct regularly scheduled tornado, fire and mock disaster drills.
Plan and develop a mock survey plan for the entire facility.
Assist with developing, evaluating and/or revising facility best practices based on outcomes of the mock survey.
Review daily documentation for all disciplines within the facility bring discrepancies to the attention of the Director of Nursing.
Lead the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Program.
Prepare and educate staff for the Quality Indicator Survey.
Work with the Director of Nursing and Administrator to develop quality improvement activities.
Participate in the Quality Assurance Committee meetings.
Demonstrate a commitment to county safety and risk management efforts.

Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in nursing, health administration or related field and two to three years of experience in a long term care setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven experience in ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions and percentages as well as ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts to calculate area, circumference, volume, and/or land measure.
Interactions & Communication Provides specialized information and/or recommendations to others regarding an area of expertise.
