Pediatria, and Epic Health Services company is looking for a Transportation Specialist for our Day Health Center.

Description of Job Responsibilities:

To transport children or special clients to and from the center. Ensure adherence to safety rules. May assist passengers in boarding or exiting the bus.

Driver Reports To: Administrative Director

Employment Classification: Variable Hour Employee, Non-Exempt


1.Drive multi-passenger vehicles to transport passengers between the center and their home, during field trips and other transportation needs as they arise.

2.Check the condition of the vehicle’s tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment or supplies to ensure that everything is in working order.

3.Schedule vehicle maintenance.

4.Comply with traffic regulations in order to operate vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.

5.Follow safety rules as passengers are boarding and exiting the vehicle.

6.Pick-up and drop off children according to an assigned transportation route, following strict time schedules.

7.Read maps, follow written or verbal directions.

8.Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation on the vehicle.

9.Escort children on and off the vehicle as needed.

10.Maintain knowledge of first aid, CPR and emergency procedures.

11.Maintain Transportation Notebooks according to policy and procedure and update notebooks as needed

12.Prepare and submit reports that may include name and number of passengers, transportation times, hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption and vehicle inspection reports.

13.Immediately report any vehicle malfunctions or needed repairs to the administrator.

14.Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations via the vehicle cell phone or other land line.

15.Assist nursing staff in an emergency situation.

16.Successfully completes annual skills lab / emergency training and mandatory in-services

17.Other duties as assigned.


  1. Must be CPR/FA certified.
  2. Five years driving experience.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the field of transportation.
  4. Must have current background check to satisfy all licensing regulations and requirements.
  5. Maintain any CEU’s required to satisfy all licensing regulations and requirements.
  6. Must have current driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. (LA- class D chauffer license required)
  7. HS Diploma or GED
