Work on rotating teams to support individual model validations
Perform 1st line model validation and review work to prepare models for formal Risk Model Validation
Support and perform actuarial peer review and testing activities on Life, Health, and Accumulation models
Support actuarial product line model owners and Risk Model Validation team to execute model validations
Support model change management process, assuring that protocols are being followed
Partner with Actuarial Model Governance Team to implement actuarial policies and procedures
Significant and complex data manipulation and complex calculations using macros and other programs.
Significant analysis required on most projects.
May supervise a small number of employees within a model validation team
FSA or equivalent professional designation along with Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field and 6 years of relevant experience. In lieu of Bachelor's, will accept Master's in a listed discipline and 4 years of relevant experience. In lieu of FSA will accept ASA or equivalent professional designation and 10 years of relevant experience.
At least 3 years of Actuarial Modeling experience, ideally for various purposes (valuation of various bases, pricing, etc.), and capacities (development/coding is a plus, on top of validation/testing); Significant knowledge and hands on experience with respect to at least one of Life, Health or Accumulation products.
Thoroughly understands relevant industry regulations. Strong PC skills, including Excel. Strong mathematical skills and statistical aptitude. Demonstrates high quality leadership, judgment, organization and prioritization skills. Effectively communicates, both verbally and in writing, advanced mathematical and analytical concepts to various audiences. Works well under pressure and within time constraints to effectively accomplish individual and team objectives.
Experience on AXIS or ALFA modeling platforms is a plus.
Job and compensation levels depend upon an applicant’s qualifications including the extent of his/her relevant experience and other job related factors and will be determined by hiring supervisors/managers and HR.
