Position Description:

The Controller will lead all of the financial operations for the Health and Compliance Programs (HCP) Business Unit (“BU”). Based in Fairfax, VA, the Controller will be value creating demonstrating strong leadership skills as he/she partners with management to achieve the BU’s strategic and tactical goals.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Support the overall business planning process. Includes annual budget planning, monthly forecasting process, interim estimates, and strategic planning process.

• Support the BU in business development activities including the preparation and review of proposals effectively challenging assumptions.

• Review on a monthly basis actual performance of key performance indicators against budget and variations from plan.

• Assist management to implement changes as may be required to achieve plan performance. Proactively identify opportunities for improvement.

• Establish operating procedures consistent with the Company’s broad policies and objectives and ensure their execution. Ensure corporate policies regarding financial management and internal control are in place and adhered to.

• Maintain a sound plan of organization, including plans to ensure adequate management development, providing for capable management succession.

• Ensure that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood, and monitoring performance of subordinates against expectations.

• Provide management with sound and timely reports regarding the current and anticipated state of the business.

• Interact with various Corporate departments such as Shared Services, Tax, Treasury, External Reporting, Legal etc.

• Supporting annual audit and other periodic internal and external audits as needed.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.

• A professional accounting designation such as CA, CPA, CMA. Candidate has a solid foundation of GAAP knowledge.

• A record of continuing education in accounting topics, team-based management and quality discipline is desirable.


• Excellent personal computing skills.

• 8-10 years of work experience in a dynamic industry environment.

• Must possess an effective management style, be capable of assessing situations (i.e. strong analytical skills), and be proactive as part of the management team. This person’s demeanor and bearing will garner respect of peers and subordinates alike.

• This person is proactive, decisive, and motivational.

• He/she should be knowledgeable in internal accounting control and governance procedures including Sarbanes Oxley 404.

• Must have polished verbal and written communication skills, excellent leadership capabilities, and excellent problem identification and solving skills.
