Position Description:


CGI is seeking to hire a Technical/Proposal Writer to work with our proposal and account teams. The new hire will be exceptionally detail-oriented and bring past experience and leadership skills and propose ideas for continued process improvements. The Technical/Proposal Writer researches, analyzes, and revises complex subject matter content into comprehensive terms to produce informative, clear, and concise user-friendly documentation on a wide array of topics including solution architecture, business process, implementation approaches, etc. You will create blueprints, sketches, mockups, tables, and other data to support effective communication of technical concepts and to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare content for various proposal response categories (resource bids, corporate bids, solution bids, etc.)

• Create and follow standardized project processes and documentation for custom developed applications

• Liaise with resources and management and research background information (i.e. RFP documents, IT technology definitions and release dates) to compile written content and ensure matrices and CVs are clear, concise, compliant and fully substantiated in accordance with the RFP requirements

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and testers to ensure that every perspective was represented in the application’s documentation

• Perform copy editing, proofreading and, and quality assurance reviews

• Own deliverables to completion

• Manage work schedule to meet critical deadlines

• Attend/participate in meetings as required

• Provide support and guidance to bid team members

• Produce shells/layouts/drafts and final versions of documents, which includes printing, production and distribution/submission of the finished product as requested, and

• Propose ideas for continued process improvements

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Computer proficiency, especially with Excel, Word and Outlook, SharePoint experience an asset,

• Technical Writing experience,

• Ability to interpret, understand, and provide compliant responses to client requests (corporate criteria, statements of work, mandatory criteria and point rated criteria, amendments etc.),

• Ability to work under pressure and interpret, respond to, and deliver client and senior management requests and requirements,

• Strong leadership skills

• Team-oriented and able to work independently,

• Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, interpersonal, and communication (written and verbal) skills,

• Exceptionally detail-oriented

• Knowledge of IT consulting industry

• Experience working with very large documents with multiple CVs, images, tabs etc.

Additional Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience responding to federal government (GoC) and private sector RFP responses and submissions, Bachelor’s degree in a related field an asset.

• Ability to get U.S. clearance

Background in U.S. Federal Government marketplace
