Surge Logistics Support Officer -Developmental

Responsibilities: The Surge Logistics Support Officer Developmental performs property control functions, assist in the procurement of supplies and material, ships documents or material, manages vehicle fleet, assists with movement of office furniture/equipment, and performs other project management, general support and warehouse/transportation functions as assigned. Depending on area of assignment:

  • Assists in the purchasing of materials and services, and coordinates computer or phone installations/deinstallations.

  • Assists in maintaining inventories of goods and materials.

  • Assists in the transportation of material and people.

  • Coordinates and performs routine light vehicle maintenance.

  • Assists with office renovations and moves.

  • Ability to become familiar with customer and logistics regulations, procedures, policies, and unique authorities, including those unique to area of assignment.

  • Some basic knowledge of logistics databases and applications.

  • Basic knowledge of how to read and interpret routine financial statements.

  • Oral and written communication skills sufficient to compose and deliver responses to customer questions in a clear and concise manner.

  • Ability to develop an internal network of professional working relationships with customers, colleagues, and service providers.

  • Ability to interact with customers effectively in resolving routine problems.

  • Ability to adapt to changing work requirements and priorities.

  • Ability to interact with people who have different values, cultures, or backgrounds.

  • Good judgment and personal initiative in recognizing appropriate action to be taken for completion of tasks.

  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of service delivery.


  • Must be a US citizen possessing TS/SCI clearance with polygraph at the time of application.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Successful completion of 1 year of progressively responsible work experience comparable at the developmental level in a logistical assignment
