We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Certified MedicalAssistant at the Florida Institute of Orthopaedic SurgicalSpecialists in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

This position is responsible for assisting physician with the daily operations of the physician’s office. Maintains efficient patient flow and assists with patient care, i.e. exams, procedures and patient education under the direction and supervision of a physician. Performs triage, monitors and records vitals of all visiting patients. Perform EKG and Phlebotomy. Ensures proper medical documentation of office visits. Assists in scheduling of procedures and acts as Office Coordinator in the office coordinator (will be trained).

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Graduate from Medical Assistant program preferred

Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR for Healthcare Provider required

Two years of experience in physicians practice or other clinical setting preferred

Computer Literate and Strong Interpersonal skills required

Must have the ability to concentrate in an environment that may have numerous activities and interruption

Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and employees

EMR/EHR experience preferred

Certified Medical Assistant through one of the following; National Healthcare Association (NHA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant by the American Medical Technologist (AMT), National Center for Competency Training (NCCT), or the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)

Bilingual - Spanish a plus
