You will serve as a/an Information Technology Specialist for the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Disaster Assistance (ODA), Processing and Disbursement Center - PDC in Fort Worth, Texas. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, operating and maintaining Information Technology (IT) equipment and systems.
PDC is conveniently located near the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and DART/TRE Station.

As an Information Technology Specialist at the GS-2210-11/12, some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Ensure applications are consistent with the current and future infrastructure and data environments.
- Work with application developers to isolate and solve design problems.
- Consult with customers to refine functional requirements and train and support end-users.
- Implement and coordinate activities designed to protect and restore IT systems, services and capabilities.
- Make appropriate systems tuning adjustments to optimize performance and correct and prevent problem.
- Troubleshoot complex problems on multiple types of system software and hardware. IMPORTANT NOTES:
- This is a Cadreposition, which is a competitive service status position with a full-time seasonal work schedule. Although highly unlikely, depending on the level of disaster activity, you may be placed in a non-duty status if there is insufficient work. This would be extremely unusual and has not occurred in numerous years.
- Occasional Travel
- On occasion, especially during times of substantial disaster activity, you may be required to work overtime and/or travel with little or no advance notice.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government travel credit card.
- Background investigation and credit check are required.
- Credit Score must be at least 500.
- You may be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
Generally, time in Non-Pay status is not creditable towards the specialized experience requirement listed below. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. You may qualify based on experience, education or a combination of both.
Experience: To receive credit, you must indicate the month and year as well as the average hours worked per week for each employer. Average work hoursmust be stated on the resume to quantify each period of work experience or that experience will not be credited toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: 1. GS-11: To qualify you must have at least 1 full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-09 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a Non-Federal service position. In addition, this Specialized Experience must demonstrate the following:
*Utilizes systems management tools, analysis, and design techniques. *Performs troubleshooting and maintenance on multiple types of system software and hardware such as network operating system, network storage system, network security system, network scanning and document storage systems. *Diagnoses, defines and resolves various application software, hardware and network problems. *Interacts with customers and peers through oral and written communication to convey the status/resolution of issues.
GS-12: To qualify you must have at least 1 full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-11 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a Non-Federal service position. In addition, this Specialized Experience must demonstrate the following:
*Utilizes multiple systems management tools, analysis, and design techniques. *Performs complex and advanced troubleshooting and maintenance on multiple types of system software and hardware such as network operating system, network storage system, network security system, network scanning and document storage systems. *Diagnoses, defines and resolves multiple and diverse application software, hardware and network problems. *Interacts with managers, customers and peers through oral and written communication to convey the status/resolution of issues.

GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field or successful completion of 3 full years (54 semester hours or equivalent) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
GS-12: There is no educational substitute for this grade level.
